Cancer takes it’s toll on a young patient and their families. Wonderful organizations like those below provide the gift of fun, quality experiences to patients, siblings and families impacted by childhood cancer.
Camp Sunshine provides retreats combining respite, recreation and support, while enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child’s illness. The program is offered year-round and has the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in a retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical and psychosocial support.
Camp Quality serves children with cancer and their families by providing year-round programs, experiences, and companionship, at no cost. Camp Quality promotes hope and inspiration while helping children foster life skills and develop their full potential.
Keeping the promise to help kids with cancer and their families. All-Star Weekends provide families a break for the family to be together, take a hiatus from the hospital and think about things other than cancer. (Also provides financial support).
First Descents is outdoor adventure for cancer fighters. Providing life-changing outdoor adventures for young adults (ages 18-39) impacted by cancer. Programs ensure individualized care, medical attention and intimate experiences with fellow survivors. First Descents programs are offered free of cost to participants.
True North Treks empowers teens and young adults with cancer (and those who care for them) to live longer, healthier, happier and more meaningful lives as fully functioning human beings who actively create and contribute to the world that cancer took from them. We help the people we serve get connected to powerful and unique skills, tools, experiences, and resources that can enable them to reclaim their lives and get back on track.
CanerCon® is Stupid Cancer's annual 4-day gathering where attendees’ lives are transformed by engaging with hundreds of peers who understand what you're going through. With no judgments or stigma, at CancerCon you will be embraced by an empowered community that gets it because they already 'got it.' The CancerCon experience includes dozens of informational workshops, educational breakout sessions, group discussions, networking opportunities, and social activities.
